The earth ain’t flat,
it’s fat.
Fat Earth is a rising indie-rock/pop band of old friends from Duluth, Minnesota. They have a humorous take on the world and can also hit you hard in the feels, which you’ll be able to discover on upcoming releases throughout 2025.
With rhythmically and lyrically driven songs, Fat Earth puts a strong emphasis on storytelling and keeping things playful. They blend heart and humor, knowing that the world always needs a good sad song, and to get together sometimes; like a party. It’s good to party and laugh, even if you’re sober now, which some of us are, and that’s okay. It’s good to cry too. And most of all, it’s good to not take yourself too seriously.
Guitar + Vocals: Cory Coffman

Once upon a time in
Duluth, Minnesota…
Jimmy Waller and Cory Coffman, buds since age 5, began their musical career in middle school by playing the same song over and over again in their mom’s basement. Around this time (2002ish) they picked up two other studs to round out the sound: Tubbs (Josh Mutchler), who they found in his bedroom playing along to ACDC recordings with his shirt off, and Eric Busker, who they found on a hockey rink somewhere and who said he was Canadian, but wasn’t.
They were a rowdy, but sweet, bunch of kids who went through many personnel changes, different band names, and creative differences. You could almost call it a sort of collective, but without the organization or leadership.
Being 90’s kids they all rode skateboards, though most of them sucked. When they eventually outgrew their biggest distraction, the trampoline, they got around to playing live shows, mostly in basements and the occasional all ages venue (remember those? Shoutout to Wussow’s Concert Cafe).
Then they had their biggest live show yet, in front of their high school; to much critical acclaim. Riding the wave of this massive success, they went on to do nothing for over a decade – consider it a time for creative maturity and soul-searching.
After time away, they decided it felt right to take the leap to a new basement; Jimmy’s basement. Now in their 30s and with babies, they are ready to give the world what it needs.. Yep, another freakin’ band who wants you to listen to their shit.
